Reviews about Borrego Pass Trading Post
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★January 30, 2019, by Zach FI used to live about a mile away in the small community of Borrego Pass, where the school is. Was here from 1994 - 1997, I believe. Back then the owners were an older couple, Merle and someone else (been a while). The Navajo used to come here and shoplift window cleaner because it had alcohol in it. They drank anything they could. A few Navajo would wind up dead and frozen stiff outside of The Tomahawk bar up the road towards Grants or Prewitt. The trading post itself was very nice, as the only other Caucasians in the village, I think they felt sorry for me. My dad, Roger, was a hit up there at the post. The owners even started a tab for me (I was 9 years old) for my dad to pay later. Favorite items at the post were those cheap kites that fly very well in the NM mesa tops, and frozen burgers that they'd microwave for me in store. Check it out if it's still there, I have no idea. Would love to know.
